I’m back on this blog again - why can’t I remember my blog passwords??? Anyhow, that’s not your problem right readers?  So what is this pic?  My new woven headbands.  Yes they come in all types of colors and yarns and textures.  I even have some crazy hippie patchwork ones.  Hoping to start a trend, they are for sale for only $10.  So check out knitzy.com to see what my show schedule is this fall, first show coming up in October, wow that’s soon!!

So I used this photo to apply for a show in Pensacola coming up in the fall….It’s hard for me to show my work with just the 3-4 photos they will allow, since everything I make is one of a kind.  Hope this and the others I sent do the trick.  A little beach trip in November sounds good!

Morning Music

Do you wake up with a tune in your head?  Despite not listening to songs in years, sometimes I wake with them on auto replay in my head. Last week was KC and the Sunshine Man “I’m your boogie man” ; today was Led Zeppelin “whole lotta love”.

I know these have to have some tie in to my dreams, but I’m not much of a lucid dreamer.  In fact for years I had no waking memory of what went on 8 hours a night. But now I get a brief, fading glimpse which lasts about as long as the walk from my bedroom to the bathroom.  So last night was some kind of picnic/party thing (parties are pretty common in my night visions) but not sure how the Zep song fit in.

Boogie Man was persistent and obnoxious, lasting nearly 4 days, coming back several times a day to chant inside my skull.  But Whole Lotta Love was just a quickie, it’s not there any more, only 90 minutes after its debut.

I guess I’m just glad I don’t get jingle tunes - at least it’s music I can live with!

Last days of spring here, before we slide into that terrible hot thing we call hurricane season.  I will have to cut down these weed trees though the birds have enjoyed them, and Max enjoys watching the birds.

To Do List

so this week is turning out to be a week of research and planning - what you say?  well, the inevitable:  signing up for craft shows this fall.  and what new work to make for them.  although i have resigned myself to doing fewer shows, i am still interested in knitting wonderful accessories for people who appreciate them.  so how to market them?

luckily for me there is a great shop nearby where i can show a few of my items, but with the lack of other retail outlets, crafts markets will still be in my future.

i even hope to work out one or more where i can travel and visit friends as well as doing a market.  we’ll see, keep ya posted (maybe).

when will it end?

This Is All Kind Of Wrong of the Day: Kymberly Wimberly was all set to become her Arkansas school’s first black valedictorian since 1989.

But, at the last minute, McGehee High School decided Kymberly was to share her spotlight with a white “co-valedictorian” who had a lower GPA.

“When I found out I was valedictorian, I was ecstatic,” Kymberly, who has long dreamt of being at the top of her class, told ABC News. She says the student named co-valedictorian agreed with her that “if the tables were turned, there wouldn’t be a co-valedictorian.”

Kymberly’s mom, Molly Bratton, who is the school’s “certified media specialist,” says she overheard school personnel expressing concern that naming Kymberly valedictorian would cause a “big mess.” Furthermore, when Bratton tried to protest the school’s move at a school board meeting, she was told she couldn’t speak because she had “filled out the wrong form” and would have to wait until after graduation to appeal.

Kymberly and Bratton have filed a racial discrimination lawsuit against the school, seeking punitive damages and a revision of the school records naming Kymberly the sole valedictorian.

Cats typically climb trees to escape yappy dogs, but nature photographer Curt Fonger snapped this bobcat who climbed a 40 foot cactus to escape a mountain lion.

Nature’s extreme, yo.
